What sort of a life will your life be if you want to pass everybody’s judgment? Mess. In fact, if anything has eroded your peace of mind.
If anything has stopped the spontaneity of your life. If anything has stopped you from flowing in life. If anything has dented your self-image.
For the sort of life that lot of you have lived, for that sort of results that many of you have produced, for the sort of success, for the sort of a good human being that you’ve been in so many instances where you chose right over all the other options that were available.
And yet sometimes if you suffer from inferiority complex, sometimes you feel dented, sometimes you feel low about yourself. Sometimes you feel your confidence is shaken; there is only one reason, you’re trying to pass the judgment of everybody.
If there are people who do not love themselves, there is only one reason you don’t love yourself because you feel you are judging yourself through the eyes of others and you feel you are not good enough. If we are begging for appreciation, we are begging for endorsement.
Even when you know you look smart you have to hear it from somebody. Even when you know you have cooked it very well, your eyes are still begging for endorsement.
Even when you know you’ve done a great job. You know you’ve done a great job. But he has to tell. Why is he not telling me, he has to tell. We keep begging. Only for this one reason, we don’t realize that we want to pass the judgment of everybody.
What sort of a life will yours be? Why is that you don’t cherish your own face, your own simple looks as much as you should because you have never looked at your own face with love, you’ve only looked at your own face with judgment.
Will others be impressed by it? Will I look pretty in the eyes of others? Will it look gorgeous in the eyes of others? Is this how I want to look?
Has been the only thing that has bothered you. I don’t know how many of you have ever looked into your own eyes in the mirror with just love and no judgment.
I don’t even know whether that’s possible because a lot of you have gone in this direction too far. And you just cannot stop judging yourself because you have not stopped judging the world. Attitudes don’t care where you shape them, once shaped they become your behavior.
Even smile you are calculating. Should I smile or not? Or will they think, will they assign a motive to it? Because you assign motives to the gestures of people.
You become suspicious of your own gestures right now, and life gets very complicated. You don’t even know the role judgment is playing in your life.
In fact, judgment is playing a more powerful role in your life than God itself. Because most of you though in the prayer you sing always connected to you.
You are connected to God for a few minutes a day, and you’re living your life through judgment and to live up to the judgment of the world entire day. The extent to which you are affected by the judgment of the world to that extent you are least peaceful.
The extent to which you are not affected by the judgment of the world, to that extent you are more peaceful. A Buddha should have been eternally peaceful for the only reason, it’s easy it’s just one single line in Bible judge not ye shall not be judged.
Takes lifetimes to reach there. But a Buddha must be eternally peaceful because he would have reached there where he stopped judging.
And he was no more bothered about the judgement of the world. What you thought about Buddha was your business; it was not Buddha’s business anymore.
So, if I ever in my life I have to reach a stage of eternal peace, I need to transcend judgement
