Message from Rain – Raindrops live short and meaningful lives.

Do we do the same?

Rain, This simple four-letter word takes a little more than a second to type; however, it has a message to the life for all. The actual event to manifest, the entire universe must orchestrate to the minutest detail. For many, rains indicate that the monsoon has started.

For a few groups of unlucky people, rains are an un-welcome guest and they wish that the guest would take leave at the earliest. Only for a chosen set of blessed people, this unmatched, unparalleled drama of nature means a lot.

What’s the strong message that the rain brings to mankind?

It was a cold night during the winter season, when the clock slowly whispered 2 a.m.The unimportant collage of thoughts that was occupying my subconscious mind slowly faded away. I was conscious enough to pick up the sound of the clock when it slowly crossed 2 a.m.  Deep inside my subconscious mind, I had this strange vision.

It was a cloudburst.  Rains, all of a sudden, started rushing towards earth as if there was a competition, or as if, someone had given a target to the clouds on the net rain rate. Huge drops of rain started falling.  As I fantasized about being drenched in rains, this was yet another opportunity for me to take a rain bath.

However, as if time had started moving in slow motion,I could visualize the big raindrops slowly releasing from the clouds and then listening politely to the steering winds and following its order on where to land.

A few drops fell on me and a few were changing their course and moving to a different destination. Everything was happening in slow motion in my mind and I could sense those rains getting intense and vigorous.

For those of you who are unaware, it takes one-tenth of a second for a raindrop – from the time of its release from the clouds – to touch the earth. A raindrop has life in it as long as there are water molecules present inside the cylindrical or symmetrical shape of the droplet.

Therefore, the life-filled raindrop takes one-tenth of a second to live its life.  The time for the raindrop to live a life filled with freedom is just a whisker. It is born from the stomach of dark clouds and, post birth, starts its journey on its own, individually and independently.

It is time driven, focused and does not wander here and there in the atmosphere. With a clear message from Mother Nature, each of those precious drops quickly leads a fun-filled, love-filled life, and then meets the end of its life.

In less than a second, rains are born and it takes a different dimension on touching the earth. Rains, on falling down to earth, has two destinations. Either it has to travel vertically down the earth, or it has an opportunity to travel all the way to the sea and become one with the ocean.

As I kept riding on my bike, with my dream rains still falling, there was this strange and loud voice from one of those raindrops that managed percolate through my ears. The voice said, “Hello, I am just born, and I immediately understood that the purpose of my life and my journey through that one-tenth of a second was so interesting.”

The raindrop continued saying, “My purpose is to fall on you and then slide on to the roads.  I will manage to get to the nearby canal from where my dimension will change altogether. I, along with my siblings, relatives and great grandparents will collectively travel and become one with the ocean.”

It continued saying that its twin brother directly fell on the ground and would penetrate deep into the earth as long as it could travel as per its destiny.

The voice faded away, but my inner voice quickly and in a subtle way asked me, “My master, what’s the purpose of our life?”  My ego took this as a great opportunity and started attacking me with questions. I could chase all those questions away; however, I could not forget one question.

My ego’s spot-on question was, “When those raindrops – whose life span is less than a second – come destined with where to go and what to do, what were you doing these many years after your birth? Have you at least found out the purpose of your life now?”

I did not have an answer. I was wondering if that was the reason that the rains keep visiting the world year after year – to remind human beings that ‘they are yet to discover their purpose of life’.

For the time being, my analytical mind, (my left brain) kept the atmospheric science away. It knows that rains form when the sea surface temperatures warm up and lead to the rain-filled formation of dark clouds.

It also knows that the rains falling on a part of the earth is due to the direction of the winds and many other supporting parameters. For once, my left brain took a step back and my right brain became active. I got an immediate, almost an instant acknowledgement that:

“Yes, rains do visit humans every now and then, reminding them that they have completely forgotten to identify the purpose of their life, and that their life traverses in a very different direction against their intended journey.”

While these messages are conveyed to us in a sublime way, the rains never forget to give a sound message to human beings. The sound message is this: “I silently travel through to my destination.

If there is any hindrance in my travel path or any obstruction, we join hands as rain-related events and will swallow everything. Of course, it sounds a little harsh, what I am saying, which is that

I don’t care if you are able to understand the intrinsic message that I carry, but if you try to kill my life, which is hardly less than a second, I will make life miserable for you as well.” What it is trying to say is this: “What you sow is what you reap”.

While giving this subtle message, one master raindrop slowly made me smile as I had surrendered and accepted the truth.Which was that I am still midway in understanding the real purpose of my life. I kept riding and enjoying the rain all the way back to my home.  me fully drenched, but contented.

Reached home and pressed the doorbell. By the way, have you met your raindrop?
