Mahatria, what steps should we take
to love ourselves? Self-love…
By showing my appreciation for a product,
I’m actually showing my appreciation
to the manufacturer of the product.
By condemning the product,
I am actually condemning the manufacturer of the product.
If you’re one of those who believe in God,
by loving yourself,
you’re showing your appreciation
to the wisdom that created you.
By belittling yourself,
you are belittling the wisdom
that created you.
When I love a child,
I have already earned the love of the parents,
I don’t have to do anything separately.
Just the way I love a child,
the parent of the child will love me.
By despising the child,
I’ve already lost the love of the parents.
If you are a child of God,
the only way
you are going to earn the love the father is
by loving yourself not by despising yourself.
I don’t know whether
I’m a good great product or not.
But I know…
I’m a product of a great manufacturer.
And as a result, I must be a great product.
This is fundamental to cherishing yourself
and celebrating yourself.
So show your love for God
by loving yourself.
Assuming you’re a believer of God,
even if you don’t…
not a believer of God,
the rest of the reply applies to you also.
The day you were born and you cried,
the world heard a voice that
it has never heard before.
They say all the lines in your palms are unique.
Everything about you unique.
Right now this public medium
in which this video is getting posted…
And the hundreds of 1000s of millions of people
who will watch this,
each one of you
have a different perspective
to the same message
I’m delivering.
Even the teacher
cannot get behind the eyeballs of his audience
and find out
how they are perceiving what I am teaching.
That is how unique you are.
They say there is only one Jupiter.
So it is with you.
There is only one you.
Only one Niagara Falls,
only one you…
Only one planet where life is inhabited right now.
Only one you…
each one of you…
You are rare,
you are unique,
you are original.
You’re the only one of your kind.
What are you comparing yourself with,
for you to even look down at yourselves?
They say you cannot compare an apple with an orange…
I’m saying you’re the only apple.
The only orange, the only you.
What are you comparing yourself with?
What’s your problem?
A few setbacks, a few failures,
can you show me somebody who has never failed?
You have some weaknesses…
some inadequacies.
Can you show me a single human being
who doesn’t have a flaw?
You know we admire about others…
whatever is good in them.
And we condemn about ourselves,
what a few things are not right about us.
There’s nobody in the world
who is better than you in all the aspects.
And no way you’re lesser than everybody else
in the world in all the aspects either.
So work on whatever your limitations are.
Celebrate and cherish
whatever is positive about you.
Give yourself a chance.
Be a little more charitable about yourself.
Drop the guilt that you have about your past…
No, I have done this… I have done this.
There is no saint without a past,
there is no sinner without a future.
Draw a line to your past.
Tell yourself,
‘You are the best thing
that could have happened to you in life’
because the wisdom that created you
has created you
and it knows
what it’s doing with you.
Start celebrating yourself.
In small ways start self-appreciating yourself.
Every small victory,
every small milestone,
every small things,
where you get it right…
Start self-appreciating yourself.
Most importantly remember this.
Unless you love yourself,
you will never be able to enjoy the love of the world.
Even if the world loves you,
you will not know
how to enjoy the love of the world
for the only reason
you don’t think you are loveable.
Start loving yourself.
It will not only help you to love the world better,
but once you start loving yourself
it’ll help you so much more
to enjoy the love of the world.
And if you live in an environment
where self-love is considered selfishness,
and they feel how can you love yourself…
how can you be so selfish.
Either quote, a legendary spiritual soul,
Lord Mahavira, because he said,
‘Live’, and then only said, ‘Let live’.
First, learn to live,
then let’s talk about letting others live.
Or you can quote, again the legendary Jesus Christ…
‘Love thy neighbour, as you love yourself’, he said.
Essentially put, if you don’t love yourself,
how will you love your neighbour?
That’s never going to happen.
If Jesus Christ and Mahavira can think that
you should love yourself first,
even before you can give yourself to the world…
There is no selfishness in self-love.
In fact, it’s prudence…
Love has to begin with self-love.
So make yourself the center of love and
bring the rest of the world
inside the circumference of your love.
Love all, love all the time.
Importantly, love yourself.
And I love you.
